SCCM - PXE Boot Aborted. Booting to next device - Microsoft Q&A (2024)

I do not have a physical machine that I am able to test with at the moment unfortantly.

I have created a Gen 2 but get an error similar to the attached

SCCM - PXE Boot Aborted. Booting to next device - Microsoft Q&A (1)

Now Some things to help stir the pot some other things I have done.

1) Disabled PXE boot
2) uninstalled the WDS service.
3 Rebooted the server
4) Re-Enabled PXE.
5) Reinstalled WDS
6) Tried to PXE (Gen 1) and I was prompted to hit F12 to PXE boot.
7) Almost immidetatly I go the following error
OSD Error code 0xc0000098
SCCM - PXE Boot Aborted. Booting to next device - Microsoft Q&A (2)

I found the following https://www.prajwaldesai.com/sccm-osd-error-code-0xc0000098/
and it says to disable PXE and then uninstall WDS and Reboot.

Why do I feel like this a vicious circle?

So I disabled PXE and uninstalled WDS rebooted. Re-enabled PXE and WDS and Just to be safe I rebooted again!. and now I am back at square %$@&^ one PXE Boot aborted. Booting Next device.

Please just shoot me now.
