PXE-initiateddeployments require a Pre-boot Execution Environment (PXE) servicepoint role (and some NTFS-formatted disk space), a DHCP server, Windows® Deployment Services(WDS), and a firewall port configuration. Using DHCP and WDS on thesame machine requires you to configure WDS to listen on a port otherthan port 67. See Technet: Planning for PXE Initiated Operating SystemDeployments formore information.

If there are difficulties in getting the PXEservice to work from the beginning, check that Windows Deployment Services (WDS) is installedand that it is correctly configured for the environment.

Ifthe DHCP server is on the same server as WDS, make sure that DHCPoption 60 is enabled. In some cases it might be necessary to restartthe DHCP server.

If the prerequisites are met, use the followingprocedure to recreate the PXE service point.
