📸 of Team #AMER Tableau led by the one and only Teri Hatfield ideating and accelerating in the big 🍎📈📊📈I was able to watch Christian Chabot’s with Logan Bartlett on the 🚊to #NYC on how #Tableau went from bootstrapped beginnings to becoming the #analytics leader and being acquired by Salesforce. (https://lnkd.in/erSeim5i)It reminded me how lucky I am to have participated in multiple chapters of this company’s story and I truly believe that the chapter that has yet to be written will be the best one yet! Why do I believe that? Why wouldn’t I? We have new hires joining every day with an opportunity to write their page of this storybook technology. We have the power, breadth and scope of the Salesforce #ecosystem to tap into. We are using our products internally at a rapidly increasing rate with powerful visualizations impacting how we tweak our go to market. There has never been a greater variety and velocity of data to drive customers forward. Majority are not taking the full advantage of this data and their employees ability to #tableau #desktop the rows and columns of qualitative and quantitative insights right there for the taking. The time is now. The opportunity is here. Clear eyes, full hearts, can’t lose!

👀 This one was an eye-opener.💲 Especially since #Salesforce holds the purse strings as the parent of #tableau .So, keep in mind I am on version 2022.1 at work, maybe this is resolved.🔍 But anyway, a data engineer on my team told me that I wanted a field, let's call it "Market__c" in Salesforce.🤔 Well, I have a parent-child scenario on Salesforce Account, so I have a relationship in the example (same thing happens on a join), and Market__c existed on the parent but not on the child.😵 Obviously, this caused me a great deal of confusion - my list of fields on the child copy differed from the parent copy, even though they are rows from the same table!✔ Our Salesforce manager, Kevin Patton, figured it out.Tableau is returning the *Field Label* on the driving table, and the *Field Name* on the related table.Wow.I have to assume that's a QA oversight and not by design.❓ Has anyone else experienced this?Build to Learn! 🏗→🧠💭🚶♀️🚶♂️ Follow for more.#data#datascience#analytics#VizoftheRay

Just wrapped up my 2nd in-person #Dreamforce experience, and I have to say, it was wonderful and complex for all us Tableau peeps. I was hesitant at first, and thinking it might be my last one due to work and the limitec Tableau offerings, but after taking a step back, I'm already considering attending future ones. I'll be reflecting on the experience and blogging about it a week from tomorrow. Many community leaders, as well as Tableau and Salesforce leaders, have been asking about my experience.
