Single tickets (2024)

The Haymarket in Bristol City Centre northbound towards Stokes Croft, and Christmas Street, will be closed overnight to various services between 20:00 and 06:00 from Monday 4th through to and including Friday 8th March (five nights) to facilitate carriageway works.

All northbound bus stops on Broad Quay in the direction of Stokes Croft, Colston Avenue, Lewins Mead and The Haymarket will not be served and the following arrangements will apply. Please allow extra time to make your journeys.

Please note services can operate as normal in their opposite directions.

Bristol city services

Services 1 and 2 heading towards Broomhill and Stockwood from St Augustine's Parade (The Centre) will be diverted via Baldwin Street, High Street, Wine Street and Union Street to The Horsefair, resuming normal route outside Primark, and no bus stops will be missed.

Services 6, 7, 36, 42, 43, 44 and 45 towards the City Centre will terminate at Broad Quay as normal. Buses will then pick up customers from the same side of the road, outside Sainsbury's and the opposite side of the road to the usual bus stop at Broad Quay, and then depart for Kingswood/Staple Hill/Cherry Gardens/Cadbury Heath diverting via Marsh Street, Baldwin Street, High Street, Wine Street and Union Street to resume normal route on The Horsefair at Primark.

Regretfully the normal Broad Quay (normal departure point) and Nelson Street bus stops will not be served and passengers are advised to board in Broad Quay on the same side as the buses terminate or the normal bus stops in The Horsefair outside Primark.

Services 70, 73, 74, 75, 76 and m1 heading northbound towards UWE Frenchay, Bradley Stoke, Cribbs Causeway or Henbury will operate as normal route as far as Prince Street and then stop at the metrobus Queen Square stop just short of Broad Quay (normal stop for the m1). They will then divert via Marsh Street, Baldwin Street, High Street, Wine Street, Union Street, The Horsefair and Penn Street through Broadmead, Lower Castle Street and Bond Street to resume normal routes at St James Barton roundabout (The Bearpit).

Regretfully the Centre/Broad Quay, Colston Avenue (Christmas Steps), Broadmead/Lewins Mead (m1) and The Haymarket bus stops will not be served and passengers are advised to board or alight at the metrobus Queen Square bus stop (Q2) on Prince Street, or the first bus stop in the Horsefair by Primark (B11), normally served by services 1, 2 and 2a. Alternatively, Stokes Croft bus stop will be served as normal by the 70, 73, 74, 75 and 76 and Cabot Circus stop by the m1 as normal (with delays).

Services 39, X39, 172, 376, 522 and A1 (Airport Service)

These services, heading towards Bristol Bus Station from Temple Meads Station, will be diverted via Temple Way and Bond Street to the Bus Station. All bus stops along Temple Way and Bond Street will be observed. Stops along Victoria Street and at Wine Street will not be served.

Services 39, X39, 172, 376, 522 and A1 (Airport Service) heading from Bristol Bus Station towards Bath, Wells or Bristol Airport will operate past their normal bus stops but due to the additional closure of the bus gate across into Rupert Street will take a diversion around Clifton Triangle and back down to The Haymarket which cause delays.

Services m3, m4, T1, Y1 and Y2

These services inbound to the City Centre will terminate at their normal bus stops on The Centre. They will then depart from the same side of the road that they've terminated at (picking up customers from the opposite side of the road to usual), then divert from Broad Quay via Marsh Street, Baldwin Street, High Street, Wine Street, Union Street, The Horsefair and Penn Street through Broadmead, Lower Castle Street and Bond Street to resume their normal routes at St James Barton roundabout (The Bearpit).

Passengers are advised to board at:

-The Centre, on the bus stop on the opposite side of the road to usual

-The Horsefair by Primark (bus stop B11, normally served by services 1, 2 and 2a).

-Cabot Circus (normal stop).

North Somerset Services X1, X4, X7, X9

Services heading towards Bristol Bus Station will operate as normal as far as the traffic lights at the end of Anchor Road then divert via Park Street, Clifton Triangle and Park Row into Bus Station.Regretfully The Centre bus stop will not be served and passengers are advised to alight at either Anchor Road or at the Bus Station.

Services heading from Bristol Bus Station towards Weston-super-Mare, Portishead, Clevedon or Nailsea will operate past their normal stops but due to the additional closure of the bus gate across into Rupert Street will take a diversion around Clifton Triangle and back down to The Haymarket which will incur delays.

Service U2 heading towards Rupert Street will operate as normal as far as Queens Road in Clifton then divert via Park Row and St James Barton roundabout to Rupert Street and passengers are advised to board or alight at either Queens Road or Rupert Street bus stops.

AZ1 service will commence from Rupert Street as normal then divert via Broad Quay to resume normal route at St James Barton roundabout and passengers are advised to board at either Rupert Street or Bond Street South (normal bus stop).

Newport Shuttle service from St Augustines Parade will divert via Baldwin Street, High Street, Broadweir and Bond Street to resume normal route at St James Barton roundaboutand passengers are advised to board at Bond Street South (normal bus stop).
