Setting preferences for Microsoft Exchange spam filtering (2024)

You can Customize spam filtering in the following ways.

Allowing or blocking messages from specific email addresses or domain names

1. Log in to your Spam Quarantine account by clicking the click here link at the bottom of your daily Spam Quarantine Summary email message.
2. Click the Preferences tab. You are now in the Whitelist/Blacklist subtab.
3. Do one of the following.
   • In the Allowed Email Addresses and Domains (Whitelist) section, enter an email address or domain name in the text field and click the Add button. Messages from the email address or domain you added will be delivered to your Outlook inbox.
   • In the Blocked Email Addresses and Domains (Blacklist) section, enter an email address or domain name in the text field and click the Add button. Messages from the email address or domain you just added will be blocked; they will not be delivered to your Outlook inbox.

   Notes

   • You can enter information in the following formats:
     • user@domain.com
     • domain.com
     • com

       Note: To block an entire top-level domain, the dot must be omitted. For example, to block all "dot-com" addresses, enter com instead of .com.

   • To whitelist or blacklist multiple addresses or domain names, click the Bulk Edit button in the appropriate section, enter the addresses or domain names in the text box, and click the Save Changes button. Press ENTER after each email address or domain name.

Each address or domain name that you add is listed in the appropriate section. You can remove an email address or domain name from the allowed or blocked list by clicking the trash icon.

Sending spam messages to your Outlook inbox with a [QUARANTINE] identifier

Messages that are quarantined are normally placed in your Spam Quarantine account. If you prefer, you can have these messages delivered to your Outlook inbox with the subject preceded by "[QUARANTINE]".

1. Log in to your Spam Quarantine account by clicking the click here link at the bottom of your daily Spam Quarantine Summary email message.

   Note: You can also access your Spam Quarantine account by pointing your browser to https://spamfilter.netlinksolution.com and logging in using your Microsoft Exchange email address.

2. Click the Preferences tab.
3. Click the Quarantine Settings subtab.
4. In the Quarantine Enable/Disable section, click the No option.
5. Click the Save Changes button.

Messages that are identified as spam will now be sent to your Outlook inbox. The subject of the message will be preceded by "[QUARANTINE]".

Changing the frequency with which you receive Spam Quarantine Summary email messages

Spam Quarantine Summary email messages are sent each morning by default. However, you can change the frequency with which these messages are sent.

1. Log in to your Spam Quarantine account by clicking the click here link at the bottom of your daily Spam Quarantine Summary email message.

   Note: You can also access your Spam Quarantine account by pointing your browser to https://spamfilter.netlinksolution.com and logging in using your Microsoft Exchange email address.

2. Click the Preferences tab.
3. Click the Quarantine Settings subtab.
4. In the Quarantine Notification section, click the appropriate option.
5. Click the Save Changes button.

Note: In this section, you can also change the email address to which the Spam Quarantine Summary email message is sent.

Changing the language in which your Spam Quarantine Summary message is delivered

1. Log in to your Spam Quarantine account by clicking the click here link at the bottom of your daily Spam Quarantine Summary email message.

   Note: You can also access your Spam Quarantine account by pointing your browser to https://spamfilter.netlinksolution.com and logging in using your Microsoft Exchange email address.

2. Click the Preferences tab.
3. Click the Quarantine Settings subtab.
4. In the Default Language section, select the desired language from the Default Language drop-down list.
5. Click the Save Changes button.

Disabling spam filtering

Follow these steps to disable spam filtering for your Microsoft Exchange email account.

1. Log in to your Spam Quarantine account by clicking the click here link at the bottom of your daily Spam Quarantine Summary email message.

   Note: You can also access your Spam Quarantine account by pointing your browser to https://spamfilter.netlinksolution.com and logging in using your Microsoft Exchange email address.

2. Click the Preferences tab.
3. Click the Spam Settings subtab.
4. Click the No option and then click the Save Changes button.
