A few words of affirmation can make all the difference. Here are a few of the best compliments to say to a teacher.

Thank you. It’s simple yet meaningful. Many teachers don’t hear this often.
We appreciate you. Teachers prepare the next generations for the world ahead. They are deeply appreciated.
Your sacrifices don’t go unnoticed. Most teachers sacrifice their time and their emotional and mental loads to teach. Many even spend money out of their own pockets to help support the classroom.
You made this easy to understand. If they helped your kid or yourself to understand a complicated subject, this can be a great compliment.
My child wants to learn more about this. It’s exciting when students share their enthusiasm for learning.
You care so deeply about your students. Teachers would love to hear that their desire for their students to succeed is recognized.
You’re making a huge impact. Who doesn’t want to hear this about their career?

Ask to help. Volunteering to help in your child’s classroom is music to the ears.
A hand-drawn picture. Encourage your child to draw their teacher a picture. It will melt their heart.
Give yummy sweets. Find out what your teacher really loves to eat and treat them to it.

Offer after-school tutoring. If you are equipped with the knowledge doing after school tutoring can really help students and therefore teachers.
Give grocery store gift cards. This can be great for teacher’s who may have students struggling with food needs.
Provide “weekend bags” of healthy food for kids. Some students may not get meals outside of the school so this is a great way to help teachers’ students. When students aren’t going hungry they can focus on their learning.
Get art and school supplies. Many teachers spend money from their own pockets to give their students school supplies.
Donate backpacks or weather-appropriate clothes. This is connected to getting school supplies. Same goes for backpacks and clothes. Many students don’t have jackets for winter.
